A cpd23 online meet-up
An online, virtual cpd23 meet-up will be taking place on Tuesday 19 July 2011 at 18:00 GMT (that’s 19:00 UK time and 20:00 central Europe time).
We will be using Tinychat, a free video and text chat room provider. Just go to tinychat.com/cpd23 and enter a username – you do not need to sign up to Tinychat in order to use it.
You can also choose to sign in with your Twitter, Facebook or Tumblr ID if you want.
The next screen shows the text-based chat room.
If you want to use your web cam for the video chat, just click Start Broadcasting.
Tinychat may display a message telling you that there’s a conflict with other video chat software on your computer. I’ve found that you can usually ignore this and click on Try my camera anyway.
Once you get your web cam connected to Tinychat, it will look like this:
To switch off the video chat, just click Stop Broadcasting. You will still be signed in to the text chat room until you leave the web page.
